GWENNIE - Co-Founder
I am a 37 year old Project Manager, living in South Yorkshire. I am married to Steven,
with our blessed little boy, Danny, born Oct 06. I am the youngest of 8
siblings.
I have always been interested in the paranormal, with my mum and various members
of her family having experiences. My most vivid memory is one night with my
mother, I suddenly had a really strong scent of roses…..I asked my mum if there
was an air freshener in the room, without even stopping to think that we had
been sitting there for hours, so she hadn’t even had a chance to bring in one,
to account for the suddenness of the experience.
She calmly told me it was her sister visiting – ‘her’ scent was roses and it was
a way of comforting my mother, as this elder sister had been a second mother to
my mother, they were extremely close and she had died young.
I didn’t know it then, but a few short years later, my own parents were to die
within 6 months of each other. After they died, I basically wandered the
‘wilderness’, finding my way in the world, as I was quite young when they
passed. I had some personal experiences along the way, but I realise now that I
was not ready to pursue these further.
Then a few years ago, I settled down in an area of the country I could call
home and decided to do something about my passion; I found a paranormal group on
the web and went along to one of their investigations. There I was amazed to
meet like-minded people, who were taking it seriously…..I hadn’t known what to
expect. My lasting memory of that first meeting, is saying to one of the members
that I felt really comfortable there and happy to be there. She said it
was probably because it was the first time I was among like-minded people. I had
a very scientific approach then, as I had studied the sciences, but even at that
early stage, I experienced things I could not explain in any way other than
paranormal.
Since then, I have attended many investigations, with existing groups,
being a core team member. I had a
reading from our very own site medium, Maureen, not long after; I
should point out that I didn’t know her then! That reading quite literally
changed my life. I was left with no doubt whatsoever that we do go on in the
spirit world, after we leave the physical body. I have been pursuing my own
spiritual path of mediumistic development, aided by attending Maureen’s
workshops. My goal would be to further the ability to a point where I could
reliably provide readings for people, to give them the comfort and or knowledge
that will bring them peace and possibly open up a whole new spiritual realm to
them. I personally have found such inner calm and tranquility on my journey
along this path.
Hope you enjoy the site and the group – we will continue to strive to further
the research.
PSYCHICDAVE - Group Medium
I suppose you dont
need to be psychic to know what my name is lol. I'm 35 and live in Scunny,
married to Kay with 2 daughters called Caitlin and Niamh. I went to Foxhills
Comprehensive School where I became good mates with Gwennie's husband Steve ( if
you want me to dish any dirt we'll start the bidding at a bottle of Jack Daniels
ha ha ).
I can't honestly remember a time when I haven't been interested in the
paranormal, although a few years ago I took a break from it to run my own UFO
research group called Hangar 18 which was also based in Scunny. During this time
I came into contact with a medium called Ian Lawman. At the time I was a total
non-believer of mediumship but he told me stuff that had only happened half an
hour before I went to see him so I had to change my mind. I started attending
the spiritualist church in Scunny and am now attending my fourth development
group. Hope that gives you a good background . If anyone wants to know more then
don't hesitate to ask.
VIPERISM - Staff Member
I was born in Bristol and
have lived here all of my life. Growing up I was very sport orientated, football
in particular. I played for Bristol Rovers, Everton and England at schoolboy
level.
I have always been interested in Paranormal activity, including UFO's. My UFO
interest has significantly decreased over the last 10 years though.
My first ghostly paranormal experience was with a group of roman soldiers in a
village/town on the outskirts of Bristol in a field, whilst doing a bit of
illegal night fishing.
Being the normal football playing lager drinking guy I didn't really pay a lot
of interest to the paranormal for my late teens going into my mid 20's. I always
thought that there was something in the area of the paranormal to investigate
further, but at that time it was not a priority to look into it.
Then around early 2003 I found Most Haunted on TV and it fascinated me, many
many nights I spent watching and rewatching the programs. At the time I never
even thought that there would be groups of people who would do investigations of
this nature as a private venture.
I then met my partner Julie who initially I had no idea had an interest in the
paranormal, but I then told her I wanted to watch Most Haunted and it went from
there really.
The main turning point came when I managed to book tickets for the Most Haunted
Live show at Maes Artro on the Sunday night. However for one reason or another
we didn't attend the event. But I decided to continue to look into the location
as it really interested me. So I googled Maes Artro.
The results brought me to a site of a paranormal group who actually investigated
locations themselves. I joined immediately. Before you know it I had booked
myself and Julie onto our first investigation ever.
That first investigation I met a number of people who I still have a lot of
respect for as they gave me my footing in the paranormal. Gwen was also
attending her first investigation with Steven. Steven slept the whole of
the night as I think it wasn't his cup of tea

During these investigations I found out a lot about myself as a person, but also
that I had an ability, one which most people have. Nothing particularly
powerful, but enough to get me by on investigations.
During my absence of investigating, I was still very interested in the area and
still kept in touch infrequently with some of the people I used to investigate
with. I foun dout Maes Arto had been demolished which saddened me lots.
Then the urge returned, I wanted to investigate again and so did Julie this was
back around the second half of 2006. So we contacted RIPP through these forums
and we booked onto an investigation. And we were back into the saddle. I think
myself and Julie both realised we should have carried on previously, and I hope
we don't have to stop for a prolonged period like that again. Although as we
have just done we may have to take a small break for 3-4 months from time to
time to sort out some things.
Other things about me.
- Attention to detail
- If something can be said in 3 words I will say it in 100.
- I can stick my nose in sometimes where its nto wanted and try to do things to
help out. Many people call me a leader type.
- Busy I am always doign things, I always have ideas etc etc.
On investigations
- I rarely get tired, which I am sure infuriates some
- Hardly ever get frightened. In fact I normally ask to do stuff on my own, even
though I know its not allowed
- Never want breaks, and always want to continue vigils
MANDIFESTATION - Group Manager & Investigation Co-ordinator
- Profile to follow...but basically Mandy is the 'glue' that holds the group together; she arranges meetings and books all of our investigations.
